Where to find Christmas lights in Naples
This year, 150 km of lights and colors will illuminate and embrace the city of Naples, from the center to the suburbs. A luminous path made up of 3D decorations and large trees will make the capital of Campania one of the most evocative destinations for Christmas 2025.
From the central Piazza del Plebiscito, passing through Piazza Municipio, to Piazza Garibaldi.
This year, the lights will accompany citizens and tourists throughout every corner of the city, among stars, reindeer, giant trees, and giant light balls.
The message is clear: Christmas belongs to everyone, and this year Naples has decided to shine in every corner, transforming each neighborhood into a small festive setting. From the hilly neighborhoods of Vomero and Posillipo to the main roads of Fuorigrotta, all the way to Scampia.
But it’s not just free shows, elves, themed installations, play areas, and creative workshops: from December 8 to 21, 2025, Piazza del Plebiscito will host Santa’s Village, creating a fairytale atmosphere in the heart of the city for young and old alike.
Christmas markets in Naples
But the surprises don’t end there. Completing the festive picture will be the Christmas markets, spread throughout the city center and various neighborhoods.
Wooden huts will display handicrafts, decorations, nativity scenes, ceramics, and typical products of the Campania tradition. You will find:
- San Gregorio Armeno (Historic Center): home to workshops of master nativity scene makers, figurines, and handcrafted scenery.
- Vomero: the famous hillside neighborhood will host many events between Piazza degli Artisti, Parco Mascagna, and Piazza Muzii.
- Markets in the historic center: as usual, there will be markets in the city’s main squares, such as Piazza Dante, Piazza Mercato, Largo Berlinguer, and Piazza Carità.
- Markets in the Chiaia area: with the craft fair in Piazza San Pasquale, the antiques fair in Viale Dohrn, and the Christmas markets in Via Cesario Console.
Markets also in Piazza Sanità, Via Foria, and near the Capodimonte Forest.
The Way of the Nativity Scenes: San Gregorio Armeno in Naples
A must-see in Naples this Christmas 2025 is a visit to the street of nativity scenes, San Gregorio Armeno. Like every year, it will be festively lit up for the big Christmas event.
Always synonymous with art, culture, tradition, and Neapolitan spirit, the street of nativity scenes is one of the most visited places in Naples at any time of the year.
But at Christmas, everything becomes more magical, and you can breathe in the true spirit of Christmas here. The lights, nativity scenes, and cheerfulness provide the backdrop to a place full of charm.
And on the occasion of Christmas 2025, among figurines of Maradona, Totò, animals, and shepherds, the eagerly awaited Christmas market will kick off on November 29.
The enchanted garden of Bacoli in Naples
At Christmas, a visit to the wonderful Villa di Bacoli, overlooking Lake Misero, is a must. A real feast for the eyes and the heart. At Christmas, it will be decked out in fantastic Disney-themed lights to delight the little ones.
With Mickey Mouse, Pluto, sleighs, elves, reindeer, and illuminated trains, the Villa di Bacoli will be transformed into a truly enchanted village.
But it’s not just lights: Bacoli will also host over 50 completely free events offered by the Municipality of Bacoli.
Christmas in Sorrento
As usual every year, Sorrento will shine with sparkling lights and colors during Christmas. Decorations will be present from the main square to the city center and the narrow alleys that characterize the city.
It will be a grand Christmas for Sorrento, which captivates with its breathtaking view overlooking the sea and will enchant even more dressed in magical colors.
Shows and concerts will enliven the city throughout the Christmas period.
With the “Sorrento gentile” project, created by Maurisa Laurito, from December 5 to 30, the city will become an open-air stage for art and culture, celebrating the kindness and hospitality of the people of Sorrento.
