The rules for access to the Pompeii ruins are changing. As of November 15<\/strong>, in fact, it will be possible to enter the Park only with a named ticket and a maximum daily limit of 20,000 admissions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But not only from next summer, time slots<\/strong> will also come into effect . But let’s see in detail this new provision introduced by the Archaeological Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high attendance and large number of admissions recorded especially on the first free Sundays of the month brought to light the need to introduce a daily admission limit. Necessary not only to ease the pressure on the site and protect the archaeological heritage. But also to safeguard visitors in case of a sudden earthquake. This is what the director of the excavations stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By easing the pressure on Pompeii, it will also be possible to direct visitors to other archaeological sites and allow them to discover unique heritage outside of Pompeii. Such as Villa of the Mysteries, Stabiae, Boscoreale, Oplonti and Civita Giuliana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction of the Named Ticket<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new provision will go into effect next November 15, 2024, and the daily limit of 20,000 admissions is also added to the named ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ticket can be purchased either online at the official website<\/strong>, or at the ticket office<\/strong> by showing a valid ID.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What remains to be understood in the latter case is the speed of the ticket office in issuing named tickets. And in clearing the long lines that are created daily during the busiest periods. This we will only be able to understand once the provision goes into effect. For the time being, we recommend that those who are able, prefer to purchase online.<\/strong> Some will be able to skip the line at the ticket office and go directly to the turnstiles for access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In any case, we expect some slowdowns for those who will have to ticket directly on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The named ticket will be activated for both Pompeii express, Pompeii +, Pompeii 3days and for individual sites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n
