{"id":3844,"date":"2023-07-21T08:37:13","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T06:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seepompeii.com\/scavi-di-ercolano-di-notte\/"},"modified":"2024-08-06T12:21:18","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T10:21:18","slug":"herculaneum-excavations-at-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seepompeii.com\/en\/herculaneum-excavations-at-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Herculaneum excavations at night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The possibility of being able to<strong> visit the excavations of Herculaneum at night<\/strong> returns again this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A unique and evocative experience that can be enjoyed every Friday from August 2 until August 30.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A different way, in a magical atmosphere to learn about and admire the history of the ancient city destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>History that remained buried for centuries under more than 25 meters of volcanic material and was discovered during the excavation of a well in 1709.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Herculaneum, unlike Pompeii, still preserves many of its houses intact; here the second floors of the houses, the wooden beams that formed the roofs of the domus, the furniture and furnishings are still clearly visible. Despite the enormous layer of volcanic debris that was deposited on Herculaneum, the city was found to be in an excellent state of preservation. Each visiting group will consist of a maximum of 35 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And to participate in the event, you must come to the site at least 20 minutes before your turn to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shifts can be booked online at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ercolano.coopculture.it\/index.php?option=com_snapp&amp;view=products&amp;snappTemplate=template3&amp;catalogid=E5A5F35F-89DC-E4B3-0EFE-0162430CAD92&amp;cartSessionId=&amp;lang=en\">coop culture<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketone.it\/en\/search\/?affiliate=ITT&amp;searchterm=venerdi+di+ercolano\"> <\/a><\/strong>or tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket office. But I recommend that you prefer online booking in order to avoid standing in line to purchase your ticket and then finding yourself unable to enter due to lack of seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of tickets is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;<strong>\u20ac 9 full ticket<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u20ac 5 reduced <\/strong>For the 18 -30 years of age bracket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Free for those under 18 years of age;<\/strong> <strong>disabled people and their carers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a safe visit use comfortable, non-slip shoes in order to avoid falls on the unstable paving stones of the ancient streets of Herculaneum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,<strong> disabled visitors<\/strong> can book their visit at least 3 days in advance by sending an email to pa-erco@cultura.gov.it, indicating the day and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Parking<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To access the Herculaneum Excavations at night, entry is provided <strong>only from Corso Resina;<\/strong> parking is available at the Rodin\u00f2 School (Via IV Novembre), the Iovino Scotellaro School (Traversa Via IV Novembre) and at Villa Favorita (Via Gabriele D&#8217;Annunzio, 36).
