The climb to Vesuvius is not difficult, but it is challenging, as the terrain is crumbly and slightly sloping. Therefore, if you want to avoid unpleasant falls or slips, I advise you to follow my instructions carefully.
- Wear sneakers or hiking shoes that are comfortable and especially non-slip
- Use a walking stick, possibly a trekking stick, for the ascent
- Wear a hat, especially in summer and during the hottest hours
- Wear a windbreaker, in spring and fall periods
- Bring a water bottle with you, which you can also purchase on site at the designated refreshment stations
Also, be aware, that this hike is prohibited for people with respiratory and cardiological problems.
