During the holiday season, Pompeii Archaeological Park will remain open regularly on Dec. 24 and 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased either on-site at the Park’s ticket office or online at ticketone. To avoid the long lines that may be created at the ticket office, it is recommended to purchase tickets directly online in advance.
On December 25, however, the archaeological excavations of Pompeii and all sites belonging to the Greater Pompeii project ( villas of Stabia, villa of Poppea in Oplontis, Villa Regina in Boscoreale) will be closed.
They will open regularly on December 26, while on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025 Pompeii and the other sites will remain open with reduced hours.
From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with last entry at 1:00 p.m. with ordinary fare, tickets in this case can only be purchased at the site ticket office.
While on January 1, 2025, Villa Poppea in Oplonti will be open regularly from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (last entry at 4:00 p.m.) with ordinary admission fee.

Herculaneum excavations opening Christmas and New Year 2024
As usual, however, Herculaneum’s archaeological excavations will be closed to the public on December 25. They will open extraordinarily on January 1, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 3:30 p.m. at regular rates. Open regularly on December 31.
