The most magical time of the year is once again preparing to welcome the most atmospheric events that enliven Christmas.

Markets, streets illuminated by twinkling lights, villages, festively decorated trees become the real stars of this period. That enrich and enliven this holiday felt in every part of the globe.

A riot of lights, colors, music that create a unique atmosphere that only Christmas can give.

Naples also takes on a new and more magical face for the occasion, but where to find the most atmospheric markets during Christmas in Naples?

  1. Christmas markets in San Gregorio Armeno
  2. Markets in the Main Squares of Naples
  3. The Portici Market, in the Pietrarsa Railway Museum
  4. Christmas Village in the Overseas Exhibition
  5. “X’MAS Village” Christmas markets in Bacoli.

Christmas markets in San Gregorio Armeno

Not only in the city’s main squares but also in the magical street of Nativity scenes in San Gregorio Armeno.

On the occasion of this Christmas 2024, the municipality of Naples has thought of enriching the busiest street of the Christmas season with magnificent wooden cottages, decorated with lights and glittering decorations to recreate a Christmas market of pastoral nativity scenes.

Or rather, if we want to be precise, he thought of creating a real Nativity scene fair, which will animate with all its magical splendor the wonderful Via San Gregorio Armeno. A fair that will welcome the greatest nativity artists who will present their totally handmade creations.

The fair that will be inaugurated in the coming days will last until January 8, 2025.

Markets in the Main Squares of Naples

But as we said above, markets can be found in different corners of the city of Naples. From Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, to Piazza Dante, Via Diaz, Piazza Salvo d’acquisto (pignasecca side), to Piazza Mercato. All will offer a wide range of handicrafts and typical Neapolitan traditional products, such as nativity scenes and Christmas items.

Arts and crafts items made of ceramics, glass, wood, copper, wrought iron. But not only that, also antiques and collectibles in general fruit of Neapolitan production.

The Portici Market, in the Pietrarsa Railway Museum

Christmas market in Pietrarsa Portici

But moving southward and precisely to Portici, it will be possible to visit one of the most characteristic and original Christmas markets in the area, the one set up in the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum. Open from November 30 to January 6, 2025.

In recent years, this market has been growing in interest. The charm of the little wooden houses in the magical setting of the museum, the melodies of street performers and street bands, and the lights and colors of Christmas.

Combined with the tastes and smells of the food area where typical Campanian products are prepared, they make visitors experience a unique journey between imagination and reality.

Christmas Village in the Overseas Exhibition

But always in Naples you can find the very large Christmas Village, open from December 7 to 30 in the Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples. A true Christmas Village ideal for the whole family but especially for the little ones. It will be possible, in fact, to attend the many Christmas-themed shows and enjoy the skating rink and inflatable area.

“X’MAS Village” Christmas markets in Bacoli

Casina Vanvitelliana Bacoli

In an exceptional setting, Bacoli is preparing to host a magnificent Christmas market in its second Edition. The “X’MAS Village” set up at the Vanvitelliana Park and Casina and in Rossini Square at Fusaro, from Friday, December 6, 2024 until January 6, 2025.

The magnificent Architectural jewel signed by the great Vanvitelli becomes the protagonist of Christmas magic with the XMAS Village.

Wooden cottages, Christmas lights reflecting in the spectacular body of water of Lake Fusaro will make the atmosphere even more evocative and magical.

All cheered by the show of colorful elves who will welcome tourists, ready to guide them in an unforgettable experience of celebration and wonder. There will be two exceptional locations: Rossini Square where there will be Christmas markets and those dedicated to gastronomy. And the Casina Vanvitelliana Park where the skating rink will be set up, while Santa Claus can be found in the Casina.

In short, a magical Christmas awaits you in Naples.
